Baker out for six weeks for lifting

7:00 pm on 7 April 2014

Highlanders winger Kurt Baker has been suspended for six weeks for a lifting tackle during their Super Rugby home win over the Melbourne Rebels at the weekend.

Baker pleaded guilty to the charge for lifting and dropping Rebels halfback Nic Stirzaker out of a ruck early in the Highlanders' 33-30 win in Dunedin on Friday.

He'll now sit out Friday night's home match against the Bulls, as well as the Sharks, Stormers, Lions and Hurricanes games.
