Thunderstorms ruin Masters Monday

5:33 am on 8 April 2014

Dangerous weather has forced players and spectators off the Augusta National golf course on the opening day of Masters week.

The warning siren was sounded at 11am local time, denying two of the last qualifiers, the new PGA tour winnners from Australia Steven Bowditch and Matt Jones without the chance to play Augusta National for the first time.

But the forecast for the rest of the week is for dry, sunny weather.
