London football club Tottenham Hotspur have kept alive their faint hopes of qualifying for next year's Champions League with a convincing 5-1 victory over Sunderland in the English Premier League.

Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice for Spurs to lift them back above Manchester United into 6th place, five points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.

Spurs' manager Tim Sherwood, who's reported to be leaving at the end of the season, was delighted with their fightback after conceding the first goal.

Sunderland are seven points short of avoiding relegation.
