The dumped Warriors coach Matt Elliott has broken his silence over the circumstances surrounding his his departure from the embattled rugby league club.

Elliott's axing left club co-owner, Sir Owen Glenn, outraged at the suggestion by club management that the coach had resigned.

Glenn says Elliott was pushed.

However in a statement issued this afternoon Elliott says he agreed to the wording in the media release with club chairman, Bill Wavish.

He says his opinion over the decision has the same impact as every other human on the planet.....zero".

Elliott says he's not bitter towards the club and saying Wavish handled the matter with sensitivity.

He says he's confident his former assistant and now head coach Andrew McFadden can take the side to the NRL playoffs.

Elliott says he'd already begun conversations with the club regarding McFadden taking over the head coaching role next year.
