The former All Black lock Jarrad Hoeata will leave the Highlanders at the end of this Super Rugby season to play in Wales.
Hoeata has signed a three-year contract with the Cardiff Blues.
He's been granted an early release from his Taranaki contract to head offshore.
The 30-year-old's the latest in a line of New Zealanders to play for Cardiff, with Xavier Rush, Paul Tito, Michael
Paterson and Jonah Lomu all pulling on the jersey in recent seasons.
Hoeata played three Tests in 2011.
