Former Silver Fern helps Mystics to tight win

The Northern Mystics have beaten the Mainland Tactix 65-62 in a nail-biting trans-tasman netball clash in Auckland last night.

With former Mystic and Silver Fern Temepara Bailey answering an SOS from coach Debbie Fuller to help bolster a midcourt depleted by injury, the 38-year-old put her commentator's microphone aside for the good of the cause.

Injected into the game halfway through the second quarter, Bailey showed her experience to help the improving Mystics get through some tense moments, turning the clock back to her last appearance in 2012.

Despite getting a slight edge through the middle stages of the match, it took the home team until the final two minutes to secure the win against the gritty Tactix.

The Mystics lie 8th in the ten team competition while the Tactix remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
