Matulino in trouble for shoulder charge

6:55 am on 15 April 2014

The Warriors rugby league prop Ben Matulino is facing up to three weeks on the sidelines after becoming the latest player to fall foul of the NRL's shoulder charge ban.

Matulino was slapped with a grade-two shoulder charge for a 33rd-minute hit on Canterbury front-rower James Graham in Sunday's 21-20 win by the Bulldogs at Eden Park.

The 25-year-old faces a three-week ban is he fights the charge and is unsuccessful, however if he takes the early guilty plea the Kiwi international will miss two matches.

Matulino may miss Saturday's clash with the Dragons across the ditch regardless after picking up a rib injury in the weekend's loss to the Bulldogs.
