The French Open prize money pool has risen to $NZ40 million after the country's tennis federation announced a $NZ5 million increase to overall winnings.
The FFT added that the men's and women's champions would benefit from a 10 percent rise in earnings, each banking $NZ 2.6 million for winning the singles titles in Paris.
Last year, Wimbledon had a total prize pool of $NZ 36 million while the US Open had a $NZ39 million purse.
This year's Australian Open prize money pool was $NZ38 million.
