It's been a disappointing end to the first BMX Supercross World Cup in Manchester for the New Zealand team with no riders finishing on the podium.

It was the first time that all five of the BikeNZ High Performance team has qualified for the quarterfinals at a Supercross event, with world champion silver medallist Marc Willers and Olympic medallist Sarah Walker both making the finals.

Walker finished fifth while Willers was squeezed off the tight indoor track to finish eighth, after three New Zealand men had qualified through to the semifinals.

The next of five World Cups is the Netherlands next month with the third round in Berlin in June.
