Hurricanes start search for Schwalger's replacement

11:49 am on 23 April 2014

The Hurricanes have started their search for a prop to replace the former All Black John Schwalger whose Super Rugby season is over, and the Hurricanes coach Mark Hammet has said he's likely to be out for the rest of the year.

Schwalger sat out the Hurricanes' 39-20 win over the Auckland Blues at the weekend after being diagnosed with blood clots on his lungs.

The Hurricanes have won their last three games and are up up to third in the New Zealand conference, four points behind the defending champion Chiefs.
