Massa accuses Alonso of being part of crashgate

Formula One's "crashgate" affair has been re-ignited by Felipe Massa who says his Ferrari-bound team-mate Fernando Alonso must have been involved in the Renault team's plot to engineer the result of last year's Singapore Grand Prix.

Speaking to reporters ahead of this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix, Massa reportedly maintained it's an absolute certainty Alonso knew about the plan for Nelson Piquet junior to deliberately crash to enable Alonso to win the race.

Massa's comments have caused an uproar, prompting Ferrari to issue a statement on the team's website stressing that Massa was talking only about his own feelings, rather than any factual evidence, and the Brazilian driver himself has admitted his comments were based on a hunch.
