Clippers coach wants quick resolution to ownership saga

The Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers is calling for a quick resolution to the team's ownership saga after its owner Donald Sterling copped a life ban from the NBA for alleged racist comments.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver handed out the ban to Sterling and fined him $2.9 million.

Silver says he's asked the other 29 NBA team owners, known as the board of governors, to force Sterling to sell the Clippers.

Silver says he fully expects to get the support he needs from the other NBA owners to remove Sterling.

Three-quarters of the board will have to vote in favour of the motion to force the sale of the team.

Rivers says the right decision was made, but says it's hard to do his job with so much uncertainty about the future of the team.

The Clippers responded well following the incident, beating the Golden State Warriors 113-103 to take a 3-2 lead in their best of seven playoff series
