The brilliant Spanish motor cyclist Marc Marquez continued his breathtaking start to his title defence when he spreadeagled the field to win his home grand prix in Jerez, Spain and make it four wins in four races this year.

Marquez briefly surrendered first place to the Italian great Valentino Rossi, but the 21-year-old was soon back in front and opened a gap of five seconds before easing off in the final stages.

He's the first rider to win the opening four premier class races of the year since Mick Doohan in 1992, and he leads the MotoGP championship by 28 points from his teammate Dani Pedrosa.
