Applicants line up for All Whites job

7:33 am on 10 May 2014

New Zealand Football have already had plenty of interest in the All Whites' vacant head coaching role.

The position was officially advertised on Thursday, following the completion of the review of the failed World Cup campaign which ended Ricki Herbert's time as coach.

New Zealand Football chief executive Andy Martin says they've already had a number of people put their hand up to take the role from around the world.

Martin says they've had about 50 appilications even before the ad went out.

He says while they'd prefer to have a full-time coach, they'd be open to the idea of a job share with a club coach, and possibly appointing a full-time national assistant.
