The former New Zealand batsman Craig McMillan has been appointed the Black Caps batting coach for the upcoming tour of the West Indies.
McMillan has previously spent time with the side working on batting technique and the national head of cricket Lindsay Crocker says he's the best fit for the role.
Crocker says his commentary work has also given him extensive knowledge of both the Black Caps' and West Indies' squads, and those qualities placed him ahead of the other candidates.
Someone will be named to fill the position full-time following the end of the West Indies tour.
