Manchester City have sealed a second English Premier League football title in three years with a 2-0 win over West Ham United at their Etihad Stadium, condemning Liverpool to second place.
City, who only needed a draw to win the trophy, finished two points clear of Liverpool, whose campaign ended with a 2-1 come-from-behind home win over Newcastle United.
Samir Nasri put City ahead in the 39th minute and captain Vincent Kompany's neat finish four minutes after half-time put the hosts in cruise control, rounding off a superb debut season for manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Chelsea finished third after coming back to beat Cardiff 2-1 away.
City finished top with 86 points, with Liverpool on 84, Chelsea 82, Arsenal 79, Everton 72, Tottenham Hotspur 69 and deposed champions Manchester United on 64.
United missed out on a place in next season's Europa League after a 1-1 draw at Southampton, while City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal will play in Europe's elite club competition.
Norwich City's relegation alongside Fulham and Cardiff was confirmed by their 2-0 home loss to Arsenal.
