Russian Winter Olympian appeals for financial help

The Russian freestyle skier Maria Komissarova, who suffered a broken back during a training session at the Sochi Winter Olympics, is appealing for financial help to continue her treatment and rehabilitation.

Komissarova is rehabilitating at a clinic in Spain where the doctor treating her rates her a 90 percent chance of standing on her own legs again.

The 23-year-old's paralysed from the waist down and exercises up to six hours every day following a series of operations, and she needs about $900,000 to fund her rehabilatation until early next year.
