McFadden appointed full-time Warriors coach

The Warriors have shown their faith in new coach Andrew McFadden, extending his contract for three more National Rugby League seasons.

McFadden was appointed to the role on an interim basis last month following the controversial axing of Matt Elliott.

The Warriors lost their first two games under McFadden, before impressive wins over the Melbourne Storm and the Canberra Raiders.

McFadden is contracted through to the end of the 2017 season and says it allows him to plan for the future with more certainty.

The club's chief executive Wayne Scurrah says it was important to stabilise the coaching situation to allow McFadden to get involved in recruitment and other plans for next season.

McFadden's first challenge as a full-time head coach will come against the top of the table Bulldogs in Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.

He's named an unchanged starting line-up for the Waikato Stadium clash.
