King out of British Open

The New Zealand squash player Joelle King has been beaten in the quarter-finals at the British Open in Hull.

The world number four missed out on a spot in the semis after losing in four games to fifth-ranked Englishwoman Alison Waters 11-4 8-11 11-5 11-1.

The fifth seed will now face world number one Nicol David in the last four, while England's Laura Massaro and Egyptian Raneem El Weleily, ranked two and three in the world, will square off on the other side of the draw.
