David Moyes, who was sacked last month as manager of Manchester United last month, has been accused of assaulting a man in a bar in northern England.
Lancashire police say a 23-year-old local man was assaulted by a 51-year-old man, and an unnamed source confirmed that Moyes was involved in the allegation.
Moyes has just been linked with a return to football management with the Scottish champions Celtic after Neil Lennon stood down.
