Steel rebound from loss of Fowler-Reid

7:00 am on 26 May 2014

The Southern Steel overcame the loss of their shooting kingpin Jhaniele Fowler-Reid to record a 64-60 come-from-behind win over the Tactix in their trans-tasman netball championship clash in Dunedin.

Te Paea Selby-Rickit took her opportunity off the bench with an impressive outing after Fowler-Reid was forced off with a knee injury to help steer the Steel home.

The Tactix made a strong start in the southern derby, leading by as much as nine goals during the second quarter before Steel found their feet with a compelling reply.

The Steel now sit sixth in the 10 team competition, four points outside the top four, though they have no chance of reaching the playoffs.

The Tactix remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
