Dagg not bragging about match saving tackle

6:20 pm on 26 May 2014

The Crusaders fullback Israel Dagg has been trying to keep a low profile around any Highlanders who're part of the All Blacks training camp in Wellington.

Dagg pulled off a match winning tackle when he brought down Highlanders winger Patrick Osborne when he was about to score on the stroke of fulltime in their Super rugby match in Dunedin on Friday night, giving the Crusaders a

win.

Dagg says a few Highlanders have jokingly suggested he should have let Osborne score, but Dagg himself is unsure how he even managed to pull of the tackle.

Dagg says he could see how play was unfolding and knew the Highlanders were going to come to his side of the field where they had an overlap.

He says he didn't know whether Osborne was in or out so just kept yelling at referee Glen Jackson that Osborne was out until Jackson told him to shut up.

Dagg says he's watched the replay at couple of times and is just pleased the call went their way.
