A further track cyclist and diver have been named in the New Zealand Commonwealth Games team for Glasgow.

Cyclist Stephanie McKenzie has been included after an outstanding trial in Cambridge last week, where she went under the national record for the 500m time trial.

McKenzie won four national titles at the national champs two months ago but was asked for further improvement to meet the selection criteria of a top six finish in the Commonwealth, to be considered as a late selection for Glasgow.

McKenzie is a former gymnast who switched to cycling eight years ago.

The Wellington diver Li Feng Yang joins 17 year Liam Stone in the 1m and 3m events.

Yang will also contest the 10m platform dive and is aiming for a top three finish.

His inclusion means New Zealand can also enter a team in the 3m synchronised pairs event for the first time.

A former elite diver in his native China, the 24 year old Li switched to coaching after a small injury.

He moved to New Zealand four years ago and is now making a competitive comeback.
