New Zealand triathletes in top ten in London

New Zealand's Nicky Samuels and Andrea Hewitt have finished in the top 10 in the London triathlon sprint event.

Samuels finished fifth with New Zealand number one Hewitt coming home sixth in her return to the international triathlon circuit, three seconds behind her Glasgow Commonwealth Games team-mate.

Hewitt remains 11th in the overall ITU world triathlon series rankings with Samuels 13th.

American Gwen Jorgensen won the race ahead of compatriot Sarah Groff, with Australian Emma Jackson finishing third.

Spain's Mario Mola won the men's race with South Africa's Richard Murray second.
