Bolt to miss Paris and Ostrava

11:33 am on 7 June 2014

The World and Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt will not compete at the Paris Diamond League athletics meeting or the Golden Spike in Ostrava, the Czech Republic, as he continues to struggle with a foot injury.

Bolt, who has been recovering from the injury, says on Twitter he's not yet ready for Ostrava or Paris, and he's sorry to his fans in both cities.

The Jamaican won the 200 metres at the Paris meeting at Stade de France last year, a month before increasing his world title haul to eight at the Moscow championships, where he clinched the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay.

The six-times Olympic champion is apparently behind with his training schedule.

The Paris Diamond League event takes place on July 5th with the Ostrava meet on June 17th.
