Wallabies captain gone for the season

The Wallabies will be without captain Stephen Moore for the 2014 season and lock Sam Carter for the remainder of the series against France following injuries they sustained in last night's 50-23 victory over France.

Moore has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee, which will require surgery and keep him on the sideline for the remainder of the year.

Carter also underwent scans last night, when he was ruled out of the series with an ankle injury.

Moore was only given the captaincy last week and only wore the armband for five minutes in his first test as skipper before leaving the field.
