The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic ended the New South Wales Swifts' trans-Tasman netball grand final hopes with a thrilling 50-49 win in Sunday night's minor semi-final in Sydney.
The result was determined when the Magic's English goal shooter Jo Harten netted from close range with time virtually up after the two sides had gone point for point during the final period.
The Magic now play the Queensland Firebirds, the loser from Monday night's major semi-final - the Melbourne Vixens went on to beat the visiting Firebirds 52-47 and earn grand final hosting rights.
