The former England international Dimitri Mascarenhas has been appointed head coach of the Otago cricket team.
Mascarenhas, who played 34 limited overs matches for England, has signed a two-year contract.
The 36-year-old was the Otago overseas player for two seasons, including their successful 2009 Twenty20 campaign and subsequent trip to the Champions League in India later that year.
In recent seasons Mascarenhas has begun the transition to coaching, completing an ECB level three coaching qualification and holding player coach roles at Hampshire, Rajasthan and Hobart.
He replaces Vaughn Johnson.
