McGlinchey in talks with Phoenix

The All Whites midfielder Michael McGlinchey's poised to sign on with the Wellington Phoenix.

But despite a story on the Football Federation Australia website saying a two-year deal's been done to move to Wellington, a Phoenix spokesman says it's not completed yet as it's a "very complicated transfer".

McGlinchey's on loan to a Japanese J-League club Vegalta Sendai from A-League rivals Central Coast Mariners.

But the Phoenix have been in negotations for some time and the club's hopeful of concluding the contract talks soon.

If the deal can be done, McGlinchey will join fellow new signing Alejandro Gorrin in a new-look Phoenix midfield. The Spaniard's the former under-20 Sunderland captain who was released by the Premier League club after the end of the English season.
