Black Caps pick up key Windies wickets

The New Zealand bowlers have picked up some key wickets to remain on top midway through the third day of the opening cricket Test in Jamaica.

In reply to the Black Caps first innings of 508 for 7 declared, the Windies fell to 61 for 3 early in the day, and then Tim Southee picked up two quick wickets after lunch, including captain Chris Gayle for 64, as they slumped to 104 for 5.

However Shivnarine Chanderpaul has moved onto 34 and the West Indies are now 160 for 5.

Southee and debutant Mark Craig have 2 wickets each.
