Mangere United found guilty of fielding ineligible player

11:00 am on 12 June 2014

New Zealand Football have investigated a report of Mangere United fielding ineligible players in their ASB Chatham Cup second round match against Hamilton Wanderers on Monday June 2nd.

It has been found the required International Transfer Certificate of one player involved in the match had been issued on Monday May 19th.

New Zealand Football ASB Chatham Cup regulations stipulate all players must have been registered to their clubs for a period of at least 15 days prior to taking the field in the competition.

As such, the result of the match has been overturned and Hamilton Wanderers have been awarded victory and will now play North Shore United AFC in the third round of the ASB Chatham Cup on Sunday.

Mangere United have the right to appeal the decision to New Zealand Football.
