The New Zealand cricket team has made history by claiming just their second-ever Test win in the West Indies.
Chasing 403 to win, the hosts were bowled out for 216 late on day four in Jamaica, handing the Black Caps a 186-run victory.
Debutant spinner Mark Craig recorded the best ever bowling figures by a New Zealander on debut, finishing with eight wickets for 188 runs at Sabina Park.
The West Indies' second innings almost made it into the final day after tailenders Shane Shillingford and Sulieman Benn put on an obdurate 82 for the last wicket, before the latter fell with just two balls remaining in the day's final over.
Earlier the Black Caps declared their second innings on 156 for eight with opener Tom Latham top-scoring with 73.
The second Test starts in Port of Spain next Tuesday.
