Opening batsman Peter Fulton may have played his final cricket Test for New Zealand.

The Cantabrian's been dropped for the second Test against the West Indies after his poor domestic form continued in last week's opening Test win.

Fulton contributed scores of one and none in Kingston and is replaced by Hamish Rutherford for the Port of Spain match.

A squad of 12 was named with pace bowler Neil Wagner added to the XI that won the first Test in Kingston by 186 runs.

Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum won the toss and decided to bat for the second straight Test, and the tourists have again gone with the two spinners Ish Sodhi and Mark Craig, with Neil Wagner the 12th man.
