A broken bone in his thumb's seen the All Blacks centre Conrad Smith ruled out of the third and final Test match against England in Hamilton.
Smith faces a recovery time of five to six weeks.
The Highlanders rookie Malakai Fekitoa or the Crusaders' Ryan Crotty will replace Smith for Saturday's match.
The All Blacks have already won the series 2-0, following Saturday's 28-27 win under the roof in Dunedin.
