Another win for men's hockey team

The New Zealand men's hockey team is another step closer to qualifying for next year's World Cup after beating malaysia 4-2 in their latest match at the qualifying tournament in Invercargil.

The Black Sticks top the points table with three wins from three matches, on equal points with China, but well ahead on goal difference.

Black Sticks Coach Shane McLeod was pleased with how his side responded to the increased pressure when Malaysia levelled at 2-all in the 44th minute of the game.

Ryan Archibald scored from a penalty corner after 6 minutes, Phil Burrows scored 4 minutes later, Hayden Shaw, who was playing his first match of the tournament converted a penalty corner midway through the second half and Simon Child sealed the game 8 minutes from time.

New Zealand next play China tomorrow, after they beat Wales 2-1.
