The New Zealand cricketers have battled their way to a 99-run lead after three days of the deciding Test against West Indies in Barbados.

At stumps the Black Caps are 123 for three in their second innings, after bowling the hosts out for 317 in their first innings before tea.

Paceman Neil Wagner claimed four wickets, but the tourists were quickly in trouble at one for one in their second innings when Kane Williamson came to the crease, having lost opener Tom Latham for a duck.

But by stumps, when bad light stopped play for the day, Williamson had batted through to 58 - the right hander's 14th Test half-century - with the captain Brendon McCullum on 23 in a crucial 55-run fourth-wicket partnership

The Black Caps were 68 for three after the other opener Hamish Rutherford fell for 19 before Ross Taylor was snared for six - all to catches.

The three-match series is level at one game apiece.
