The rising lock Blade Thomson has signed on with the Hurricanes for a further two Super Rugby seasons, following a standout, two-try performance in his team's 16-9 victory over the Crusaders last weekend.

The 23-year-old Taranaki forward says he's learned a lot over the past two seasons, and is looking forward to learning more under the new coaching team set to come on board for the 2015 season.

Since joining the Hurricanes' wider training group in 2012, Thomson has gained 13 caps and scored three tries for the side - two of those coming in last week's win.
