The Australian rugby league halfback Johnathan Thurston has fired a parting shot to world champions New Zealand after the Kangaroos hammered England 46-16 in the Four Nations final at Elland Road.
Half-back Thurston was inspirational for the Kangaroos, as they broke down a resilient England in the final 20 minutes to lift the inaugural title.
Thurston, who was part of the Australia team which was shocked by the Kiwis in the World Cup final in Brisbane last year, says they are firmly back on top of world rugby league.
He says New Zealand are the world champions, but his side showed why they are the best in the world.
