Angie Smit and Nikki Hamblin have both made it through to the semi-finals of the 800 metres at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games athletics programme.
Neither gained automatic spots, instead relying on being two of the fastest losers.
They were both lucky to be in the fastest two of the four heats. Smit finished fifth in heat three in 2:03.28 and Hamblin was fourth in the fourth heat in 2:03.32, both qualifying as the next fastest four.
Smit says in the last 100 metres her legs completely went and that she wasn't expecting it to be that painful.
The semi-finals of the 800 are Friday morning.
Meanwhile Sarah Cowley is into the final of the high jump after being one of 10 athletes to jump 1.85 metres.
The final is Friday night.
