Deans job not under threat says Australian rugby union boss

The Wallabies coach Robbie Deans job isn't under threat despite the side's woeful end of year tour, according to Australian rugby boss John O'Neill.

Australia's 9-8 loss to Scotland in Edinburgh at the weekend has been labelled the Wallabies' worst performance in decades.

O'Neill says there'll be full review of the team's dismal results this season including the side's first loss to the Scots in 27 years.

But the critics are already demanding that heads roll, savaging the team's display and calling for player salary cuts, with Deans having won only 14 of 27 tests since taking charge last year.

The Sydney Morning Herald has described the side as a laughing stock saying the weekend's loss wasn't far off the all time low of the loss to Tonga in 1973.

The Australian wrote the current Wallabies could the death of Australian rugby and are becoming the anti All Blacks - saying while New Zealand nearly always find a way to win, the Australians nearly always find a way to lose - which is a rare and perverse skill.
