Rafael Nadal says he will decide whether or not he will play in this month's US tennis Open by Sunday at the latest.
The world number two, who is recovering from a wrist injury, would be defending the title he won last year against Novak Djokovic.
Nadal's consulted his doctors in Barcelona for final examinations that will determine if the slight fracture in his right wrist has healed or not.
The last major championship of the year starts on the 25th of this month.
The Spanish star says his dream is to be in New York and he'll work for it.
He says if it is healed he'll try and see how he feels when he trains at the weekend and then he'll make a decision.
Nadal hurt his wrist while training in Manacor and missed the Masters tournament in Toronto.
