City still top of NZFC even though they're in Abu Dhabi

Auckland City remain on top of the New Zealand Football Championship standings after week six despite not playing.

They're preparing for their Club World Cup clash midweek against Egyptian champions Al Ahli at Abu Dhabi.

But the unbeaten City still remain a point ahead of Waitakere United after United beat Otago United 2-1 in Dunedin on Sunday.

That result saw United climb above Youngheart Manawatu, who could only draw with Canterbury United at home - though that was good enough for third place on the table for the Manawatu side.

In the day's other match Hawke's Bay United lost 2-0 at home to Team Wellington.
