Top order batsmen on notice

Peter Fulton and Tim McIntosh face an anxious wait to learn of their fate and whether they will be taking part in the third cricket test against Pakistan in Napier starting on Friday.

Pakistan levelled the three test series at one all in Wellington yesterday, when they won the second test by 141 runs.

After folding for just 99 in their first innings, skipper Dan Vettori says the top six batsmen bar Taylor are on notice heading into the third test.

McIntosh and Fulton appear to be most at threat with McIntosh having only made it into double figures once in four bats.

Vettori sees Otago opener and former international Craig Cumming, Northern Districts opener B J Wattling and Otago batsman Neil Broom as leading contenders to come into the side.
