Breakers record second road win in Adelaide

12:35 pm on 13 December 2009

The New Zealand Breakers have put their recent fourth-quarter fade-outs behind them with a come-from-behind 92-85 win in Adelaide in the Australian National Basketball League.

They trailed by 17 points in the second half but were deadly from outside the arc to outscore the Sixers 33-11 in the final period.

Rick Rickert top scored with 22 points, Kirk Penney finished with 19, including some late pressure buckets, while CJ Bruton chimed in with 14.

The win will be a massive relief for the Breakers after leading their past two home matches handsomely before surrendering the advantage in the end.

They're fifth in the eight-team competition, behind Townsville who beat bottom-placed Melbourne.
