The North Shore swimmer Andrew McMillian won the 100 metres freestyle final at Queensland State Championships in Brisbane while another New Zealander Daniel Bell dead-heated with Bobby Jovanovich in 200m freestyle.
McMillan also bettered the Commonwealth Games asking time in his 200 metres butterly heat where he was the fastest in a personal best 1:57.39 seconds.

And Jessie Blundell was top qualifier in the 200 breaststroke in a personal best of 2:10.96, nearly a second under the Games mark, with North Shore clubmate Melissa Ingram third fastest.
