The former Black Caps captain Dan Vettori made his international cricket return on Wednesday, more than a year after playing his last match for New Zealand.

Vettori was named in the New Zealand XI squad to play Scotland in Christchurch on Wednesday, with the 35-year-old veteran spinner hoping to prove his fitness for the limited overs form of the game, with the World Cup coming up in February.
