Scottish cyclist wins appeal against life ban

The Scottish road cyclist David Millar has been cleared to compete for his country at next year's Commomweath Games in India after a successful appeal against a life ban.

Millar was banned for two years in 2004 for using the blood-boosting drug EPO, but Scotland's Commonwealth Games Association has upheld his appeal, based on his impressive rehabilitation as a vigorous anti-doping campaigner and educator.

But 32-year-old Millar is still not eligible to compete for Britain at the Olympics.
