Missing out on century the biggest disappointment for Bond

Fast bowler Shane Bond admits not reaching the 100-Test wicket milestone is a major disappointment.

Bond has announced his retirement from the Test arena, saying his body couldn't take the workload after he suffered yet another injury in his comeback against Pakistan in November.

After being off the Test scene for two years because of his involvement in the rebel ICL league, Bond returned to the Black Caps in Dunedin, taking eight wickets in the first Test but suffering an abdominal muscle injury in the process.

The injury's taken longer than expected to heal and Bond says he's now decided to concentrate the one day and Twenty-20 format in the hope he'll be right to play Australia in February.

Bond aims to be playing some club cricket by late January.
