New Zealand have sealed victory in their Asia/Oceania group one Davis Cup relegation tie against Chinese Taipei in just two days.

The home doubles combination of Marcus Daniell and Artem Sitak won in straight sets 6-0 6-4 6-2 against the Chinese Taipei team of Chieh-Fu Wang and Hsien-Yin Peng to seal the tie.

The victory at Wilding Park in Christchurch gives the team an unassailable 3-0 lead in the tie after Rubin Statham and Michael Venus won their singles matches on Friday in straight sets.

The reverse singles were then contested on Sunday with the two teams splitting the 'dead' reverse singles.

Chinese Taipei claimed the first match with No.1 Tsung-Hua Yang overcoming Sitak 6-3 5-7 6-2.

Daniell then defeated Chinese Taipei's Jui-Chen Hung 7-6 7-5.

The success means New Zealand win 4-1 and will now host China in their next tie in Asia/Oceania Group 1 in March next year.
