Phoenix fans could hardly believe their eyes as their team hammered the Newcastle Jets 4-1 in their A-League football clash in Wellington, the win lifting the hosts into the top four.

New recruit Nathan Burns scored two goals in the first half before Michael McGlinchey and captain Andrew Durante added two more in the second.
The game was the Nix's third of the season and second victory in a row after their 2-1 away win last week over the Central Coast Mariners.
The Phoenix are now placed fourth on the A-League table, but next face the competition leaders the Melbourne Victory in Melbourne on November the 3rd.
